The Red Door Giving Society

Giving Hope at The Bowery MissionThe Bowery Mission relies on the generosity of thousands of donors who give faithfully – month after month, year after year – to make sure the Mission never turns away a man, woman or child who brings a need to our famous red doors. Most donors are not looking for recognition; they are simply looking to make a difference, to offer hope, and to transform lives.

Nevertheless, The Bowery Mission recognizes a distinguished group of contributors – The Red Door Giving Society – whose significant generosity helps The Bowery Mission fulfill our goal: To be the most effective provider of compassionate care and life transformation for hurting people in the City of New York.

Members of The Red Door Giving Society are recognized for cumulative donations made within a single calendar year or significant lifetime donations. In addition to knowing that your gifts are helping men, women and children who need it most, your generosity qualifies you for a variety of benefits, as outlined below:

Matching gifts count toward your membership in a Giving Circle. If you or your spouse works for a company that offers a matching gift program, you could qualify for a higher Giving Circle. Find out if your company matches gifts by contacting your human resources office.

Planned Giving – The 1879 Society

The 1879 Society, named for the year of The Bowery Mission’s founding, recognizes those who have named The Bowery Mission in their estate plans, wills, beneficiary designations and charitable trusts.

Making a "legacy gift" is one of the most profound ways a person can honor an organization. The Bowery Mission knows the decisions surrounding your estate plan are very personal and important.

By making a legacy gift to The Bowery Mission, you help to ensure our long-term ability to continue to care for those in need and to help people rebuild their lives.

In addition to the President’s Circle benefits (above), members of the 1879 Society receive annually information and invitations to occasional seminars that give specific information on estate giving and other planned gifts that can be of benefit to you and your family.
