Truly, with God’s help and your generosity, anything is possible.
I love the spirit of the holidays. It reminds me of the miracles that happen when men and women step inside The Bowery Mission. Like Michelle.
After a back injury, Michelle started taking pain medication just like many of us would do. Sadly for Michelle and her two children, taking medicine quickly turned into addiction.
Michelle thought giving up drugs was impossible. The constant cycle of “lying and stealing” was exhausting, frustrating and hard to change. That’s why I’m so glad she came to the Mission.
Talking through her past with our compassionate counselors and giving her best in our classes has dramatically changed Michelle’s life. In fact, she just celebrated four months clean and sober. In Michelle’s words, the “impossible” has happened!
Your help not only gave Michelle another start at life; it also gives her children greater hope for their future!
As the holidays approach, I can’t wait to see even more miracles unfold. Whether you make a generous donation to provide nourishing meals or pray for neighbors like Michelle to have strength in our program, YOU are lifting up hurting New Yorkers each day. You’re an important part of making their Christmas wishes come true and I am deeply grateful for the care and hope you provide!
On behalf of Michelle and our entire staff, thank you for your compassion. Truly, with God’s help and your generosity, anything is possible this holiday season!
