President's Update

Every life deserves special care

Ed Morgan, President and CEO of The Bowery Mission, Mont Lawn Camp, and Mont Lawn City Camp at the Administrative Offices.

I’ve never heard the same story from two people who come to The Bowery Mission – even though we serve thousands of people each year! That’s because each person walks through our red doors with a unique background, circumstances and challenges.

Helping so many people means we can’t use “cookie-cutter” solutions to help everyone. We understand the importance of developing programs that can be tailored for each person on their own path to life transformation.

Whether a hurting father is recovering from addiction like Gilbert... Or a woman is searching for renewed confidence like Amanda... Or a young girl needs a safe haven where she can heal from the past like Patricia...

Your generosity allows guests to take advantage of a wide variety of services that help them at their point of need. Through meals, clothing, career counseling, one-on-one training and more, men, women and children are able to experience God’s love and address the root causes of whatever trials led them to our red doors.

It requires a lot of effort, planning and resources to help so many people. But God provides and uses the generosity of neighbors like you who donate time, talents and treasures. He uses the prayers of kind friends to heal and work miracles.

He also uses blessings like the Matching Grant, which doubles every gift received! I hope you’re able to participate. Your generosity will give twice as many homeless and hurting New Yorkers the care they need to take positive steps toward healthy, independent living.
