Help the Homeless by Supporting the Mission

Homeless winter

During the winter months, the news media zeroes in on the homeless and the most effective ways to help them when the weather turns dangerously cold.

Here’s why supporting The Bowery Mission is one of the best things you can do to help New York City’s homeless during these cold winter months ...

  • We serve hearty, nutritious meals seven days a week, 365 days a year. But we also have programs to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those coming off the streets.
  • We’ve been helping the homeless in this city for over 130 years. Experience has taught us the best practices to help someone get back on their feet.
  • Many of the people we serve come to the Mission often. They trust us. And trust can often open doors to getting long-lasting help.
  • Most people who first come to the Mission do so because they know someone else being helped here. If “Johnny” can find hope here, they figure maybe they can, too.
  • And perhaps most importantly, there is the power of God. All our programs — from our daily meals to our residential recovery program — point people to the transforming power of God. We know life transformation doesn’t happen without spiritual transformation. That’s why we stress God’s redeeming love in everything we do.

The homeless need immediate assistance; but they also need lasting, life-changing help. The kind that’s available at The Bowery Mission every day.

Please send another gift today, and let us turn your kindness into a life filled with promise and purpose.

Thank you!
