In 2008, The Bowery Mission and other faith-based organizations started an annual outreach to the homeless during the peak of New York's brutal winter. Through Don't Walk By, volunteers walk every block of Manhattan to bring hope to our neighbors on the street, inviting each person to receive a new winter coat, a warm meal, medical assistance, and long-term support.

"Every New Yorker is invited to help create a city where everyone belongs. We believe we can do far more together than we could ever do alone."

BRIAN MOLL | Rescue Alliance Executive Director

What began as an event has now become Rescue Alliance, a collaboration of organizations working together to bring awareness on the issue of homelessness and year-round care in response to the growing crisis.
