For Church Groups

Church volunteer missions team serving at The Bowery MissionThe Bowery Mission offers a number of volunteer opportunities for church groups to serve and fulfill Jesus command in Acts1:8:  “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

For churches in the greater New York metro area, The Bowery Mission is an opportunity to be God’s witnesses in your “Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.”  For churches from other parts of the country or world, The Bowery Mission may feel like “the ends of the earth.”

No matter where your church is located, each volunteer opportunity at The Bowery Mission – whether it is providing a meal, emergency shelter or medical care to the homeless and hungry – is an opportunity to share God’s good news so that the people we serve might come to know God’s love for them.

The members of your church group will be changed as well, as you live out the commandments to “love your neighbor as yourself” and to serve “the least of these.”

Some of the opportunities like the Outreach ProgramShort-term Missions and The Bowery Mission Chapel Team, are exclusively for churches.  Other volunteer opportunities including Meal Services, Saturday Outreach, and Tutoring for Men and Women are also available for church groups. You might also want to invite a Bowery Mission graduate to speak to your church group.  The menu to the left will get you started.
