Bowery Mission Chapel Team
Three times a day, the red doors of The Bowery Mission Chapel swing open to welcome a congregation of New York’s homeless. They carry with them the shame of poverty and homelessness, the burdens of abuse, addiction and injustice.
Who will speak Good News to them?
The Bowery Mission’s Chapel Ministry Team consists of pastors and churches throughout the New York metropolitan area. They bring a daily message of hope, and invite men and women to the transformation offered by Jesus Christ.
How does it work?
Chapel Ministry Team members lead 45-minute services. The services follow a monthly theme, and deliver a Biblical message. Ministry Team members may give a sermon; lead worship, music, or prayers; present drama or dance. A piano and organ are available; other instruments may be brought in. Most Ministry Team members make a commitment to come at least once a month.
