Host a Food or Clothing Drive

Volunteers Hosting a Clothing Drive for The Bowery MissionThis year, our donors and volunteers helped The Bowery Mission provide more than 505,000 meals, 44,700 bags of groceries, and 56,200 articles of clothing to men, women and children in desperate need of help.  We rely on donated food and clothing to meet these important needs.

We gratefully accept donations Monday – Saturday, 7am – 7pm at 227 Bowery in Manhattan. Dry and canned goods are best, but we are usually able to accept even prepared foods. Please note that prepared food must originate from NYC Health Department Certified/Insured kitchens or be fresh and completely sealed within original packaging. We cannot accept any food that is partially open or used to protect against potential contamination. Thank you for your cooperation.

Our clothing room provides for the needs of approximately 180 resident students as well as many homeless and destitute people in our area. When people come in for our shower programs we offer them a clean change of clothing.  Most needed are: Jeans, sweaters, underwear, shoes, warm coats and business attire for those reentering the workforce.

If you are considering a food or clothing drive at your congregation, organization, workplace or school, please let us know. We will work with you to launch a successful drive that will bless those we serve.
