David P. Jones
President & CEO,
The Bowery Mission

David P. Jones, President & CEO of The Bowery MissionRev. David P. Jones, CPA was named President and CEO of The Bowery Mission in 2015 and has since refocused this 146 year old organization to achieve its stated goal of being the most effective provider of compassionate care and life transformation services for hurting people in New York City.

Toward this end, Dave reorganized the Mission's programs around a clearly articulated theory of change and continuum of care. Dave launched a new shelter program for men, a gateway residential program for women, a second City Camp program for at-risk children in East Harlem and the first Community Hope Resource Center in East Harlem, with a third in the works.

Dave centralized core services in a relocated headquarters office, freeing resources for future program innovations including women's shelters, a reimagined Men's Center on Avenue D, an expanded summer camp and a Compassionate Care Center at the Mission's flagship Bowery location.

Under Dave’s tenure at the Bowery, both Goodwill Rescue Mission of Newark, NJ, and New York City Rescue Mission have become ministries of The Bowery Mission, together with organic growth doubling the size of the Bowery in three years to $28 million in annual program spend and almost 200 full time staff.

In 2016, Dave was named one of the "Power 50" most influential leaders in Manhattan by City & State magazine. Dave also serves as the Chair of the NYC Rescue Alliance (Don’t Walk By), a collaborative network of faith-based organizations serving the homeless. He also serves on the boards of the New York City Relief (the Relief Bus), Hoving Home (a Teen Challenge Ministry), CarePoint Health Foundation and Africa Potential.

For six years, Dave served as co-Pastor of Byram Bay Christian Church, a nondenominational church in Hopatcong, New Jersey. Previous to that, Dave enjoyed a twenty-six year career as a partner at KPMG, one of the "big four" global accounting and consulting firms. He served in various client service and leadership roles as a tax, corporate finance and risk management partner in the New York office of KPMG, taking early retirement to focus on his then role as pastor in 2010.

Dave, a Certified Public Accountant, earned a BS in Accounting from Florida State University, an MBA from Columbia University, an MDiv from Alliance Theological Seminary, and a ThM Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary.

Dave lives with his wife, Kathi, and his daughter, Kate, in New York City.
