2016 Celebration of Hope Silent and Live Auction
On October 4, 2016, The Bowery Mission hosted its 12th annual Celebration of Hope Silent & Live Auction in support of The Bowery Mission's programs for men, women and children. This fun evening featured a reception with live music, a silent and live auction, and inspiring stories of life transformation.
Through this event, friends of The Bowery Mission raised $187,000 for the Mission's life-changing programs for New Yorkers in need.
During the evening, Shantih, a resident in our Life Transformation Program, shared her story of overcoming past obstacles and experiencing new life at The Bowery Mission. "Today I am healthier. I've learned that it's okay to make mistakes, that shame is an obstacle, and that being a part of a community is healing. I can be honest about what got me here in the first place and know that I don't have to go back."
