More than just medical care
Our free medical clinic provides light and hope in the dark of winter
The Bowery Mission is so thankful to all of the donors, volunteers and supporters who make our free medical clinic possible. Thanks to you, our homeless neighbors have access to care, despite their circumstances.
Often, "the homeless" are seen as a nameless group of people. But when they step into The Bowery Mission's free medical clinic, we learn their name. We don't just help their medical needs — we keep a file just for them. We feed them, learn their story, get to know them.
We treat them as individual human beings, just as they are.
All of us long to be welcomed and to belong. People trying to survive on the streets are no different. And you help to fulfill that sense of belonging to New York City's homeless through your support of the medical clinic.
From treating upper respiratory illnesses to nagging foot ailments through the cold, winter months, our homeless guests are given top-notch assistance.
Because of your generosity, our nurses and professional staff are providing quality medical care.
Our guests also receive personal attention that goes beyond medical care. They receive human care, thanks to friends like you who support The Bowery Mission.
Homeless neighbors are receiving treatment, nourishment, medication and so much more. And each time a man or woman who is hurting or homeless comes off the dark, cold winter streets and through our Red Doors, the light of hope is planted in their heart. They learn of people like you who care and know they have a name.
Thank you for your compassion and for supporting The Bowery Mission medical clinic!
