Mont Lawn Camp Summer Staff

Are you looking for a meaningful and fun ministry opportunity that gives you the chance to grow in your relationship to God and in service to others? Mont Lawn Camp 2026 could be that summer! You’ll become part of a team that’s creating unforgettable summer camp memories for campers ages 6-17 — with activities ranging from boating, swimming, arts and crafts and hiking. Mont Lawn Camp has exciting adventure activities such as an indoor climbing wall, outdoor archery range, a farmyard and nature center, and campers will enjoy “Little Chef’s” cooking, guitar lessons, campfires, horseback riding and so much more!

This year’s theme is GRATITUDE! 1 Thessalonians 5:18a “Give Thanks…” Come join us this summer as we notice the gifts of God around us and learn the gift of gratitude! Life has so many twists and turns, but God’s love and grace is always near! Whether you’re interested in becoming a counselor, worship leader, lifeguard, member of our kitchen crew or office staff, you will be joining an inspiring and dedicated team.

Our two-week paid training experience includes the following certifications and training experiences:

1. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
2. CPR & First Aid Certification
3. Incident & Mandated Reporter Trainings
4. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Discipleship Training

Summer staff may also be trained in a specific specialty area: lifeguarding, waterfront safety, archery, rock wall climbing and safety, kitchen and food safety and more.

Training is mandatory, and all counselors and summer camp staff should make arrangements to arrive on camp by Friday, June 5. All staff are paid bi-weekly for a seven-week commitment (unless contract is extended for Family Camp weekends and camp closure). Time off is provided each weekend for rest and personal spiritual growth.

Mont Lawn Camp has an onsite nurse, who oversees the medical needs of campers and counselors.

As an accredited member of the American Camping Association, we uphold the highest health and safety standards. Our licensed nurse oversees our 24-hour Health Center, notifying parents and ensuring quick emergency response and transportation to nearby medical facilities if necessary.

Since 1894, the purpose of Mont Lawn Camp has been the same: to give New York City's children a break from the city and to help them grow and change in a safe environment. Situated in the Poconos Region of Pennsylvania, Mont Lawn Camp is a 200-acre summertime haven for children in underserved neighborhoods. After their camp experience, campers return home refreshed, renewed and possessing newfound confidence and character. Our hope is that each child will encounter Jesus in a life-transforming way and will stay connected through year-round programs in New York City through Mont Lawn City Camp.
