Mont Lawn Camp 2024 is here!

Are you looking for a meaningful and fun ministry opportunity that gives you the chance to grow? Mont Lawn Camp 2024 might be just the summer that you’ve been needing! You’ll become part of creating unforgetting summer camp memories for campers ages 7-15 — with activities ranging from boating, swimming, and arts and crafts to hiking, sports, nature center and farm, “Little Chefs,” chapels, bonfires and so much more!

This year’s theme is The Armor of God! Ephesians 6:11a! We’re ready to face all the challenges of 2024 with His special armor of hope, truth, faith and so much more! Whether you’re interested in becoming a counselor, a worship leader, a lifeguard, a member of our kitchen crew or office staff, you will be joining an inspiring and dedicated team.

Staff Schedule

Mont Lawn Camp is a six-week commitment, including:

Friday, June 7 – Saturday, June 21: Training for all staff
Monday June 24: Child campers arrive
Monday, July 22: Conclusion

In addition, there is an option to serve during two additional Family Camp weekends (Friday – Saturday)

July 26 – 28
August 2 – 4

Our two-week paid training experience includes Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, archery training, CPR & First Aid and more. Training is mandatory, so all counselors and staff should plan to arrive on June 7. All staff are paid bi-weekly for a six-week commitment (unless invited to stay for Family Camp weekends and camp clean up), with time off each week for rest and personal spiritual growth.

Mont Lawn Camp has an onsite nurse, who oversees the medical needs of campers and counselors. As a part of the registration process, Campers must have had a physical exam and Health Form completed by their doctor.

COVID-19: The Bowery Mission will continue to monitor current health recommendations for COVID-19 protocols. Should a camper or counselor become ill, appropriate isolation recommendations will be followed. At present, there are no anticipated COVID-19 health restrictions for Summer 2024. As the summer approaches, Mont Lawn Camp staff will update all registered and prospective campers should the situation change.

 

 

Since 1894, the purpose of Mont Lawn Camp has been the same: to give New York City's children a break from the city and to help them grow and change in a safe environment. Situated in the Poconos Region of Pennsylvania, Mont Lawn Camp is a 200-acre summertime haven for children in underserved neighborhoods. After their camp experience, campers return home refreshed, renewed and possessing newfound confidence and character. Our hope is that each child will encounter Jesus in a life-transforming way and will stay connected through year-round programs in New York City through Mont Lawn City Camp.
